Nanos Lake is our smallest body of water measuring only 2 1⁄2 miles long by 1 mile wide. The lake is part of the Dobie River system and lies between Lecky Lake and DeShawe Lake. From Nanos Lake you have access to the Dobie River going southwest towards Leckey or northeast towards DeShawe. Both directions combined will give you almost 10 miles of river to explore. Going northeast, you can navigate through a small channel of rapids and gain access to Deshawe Lake which is approximately 2 miles long by 1 mile wide. Going southwest, there is a small portage around the rapids and another boat and motor at the top to continue your trip down the river.

The rapids entering Nanos at the west end offers superb fishing and is known by our guests as the “home of the blue Walleye”.

The cabin at Nanos can accommodate four guests. It is another original log cabin built several decades ago but has been retro-fitted with all the amenities of home, propane fridge and stove, propane lights, separate shower house with hot and cold running water, propane BBQ and fish cooker, a two way VHF radio for daily communication with base camp and 14’ boats with 9.9hp motors equipped with swivel seats with backrests for your comfort.

This lake is perfect for smaller groups and for those who may find larger bodies of water a little intimidating. This is also a favourite lake for many of our hunters.
